Fund Raisers: Each year, each of the five Fire Companies in Galloway Township, conduct their annual fund drives as well as other fund raising activities. Monies collected from the drives/activities go directly to fire education, prevention, and suppression efforts. Those who reside, work, visit, and attend school in Galloway Township should know the following: - Most of the land, upon which the stations are built, was acquired by the Companies themselves.  However, the Township of Galloway has also recently assisted several Companies with land acquisition. - The Township of Galloway did not pay to construct any of the six fire stations. - The Township of Galloway provides some funding to help companies pay for the maintenance of, repairs to, and improvements to, the six fire stations.  However, additional funds are also raised by the companies themselves to cover the balance of the costs. - The Township of Galloway provides some funding to help companies pay for the six station's utilities.   However, additional funds are also raised by the companies themselves to cover the balance of these costs also. - While the Township of Galloway purchases large apparatus (Engine, Ladders, Tankers, etc.), smaller vehicles like utility trucks, brush trucks, and command vehicles are purchased and maintained by the companies themselves. - While the Township of Galloway provides some money for the purchase, maintenance, and replacement of equipment, the companies spend a great deal of their own money purchasing, maintaining, and replacing still more equipment and consumable supplies. - While the Township of Galloway provides some money for the training, the companies spend additional money of their own on training as well. It is estimated that just over 1/3 of the companies' operating budget is required to be raised via the various fund raising efforts. Fund raising events will be posted here as is feasible.
