11 JANUARY 2009 - The Pomona Volunteer Fire Company, Station 26-3, and the Galloway Township Fire Department regret to announce the passing of Life Member, Ernest Grunow, Sr.

GRUNOW, ERNEST, 88 - of Galloway, Passed away at home on January 8, 2009.

A life long resident of Pomona. Mr. Grunow was a member of the Galloway Township Board of Education for 23 years, Pomona Fire Company life member and treasurer for 47 years, One of the Original Organizers of Pomona Gunning Club, Member of Atlantic County Board of Agricultures , Member of NJ Farm Bureau, Member of Atlantic County Market Growers Association, Member of the Cologne Grange, Superintendent of Germania Cemetery.

He was a member of the Egg Harbor City Moravian church.

Grunow Brothers Farm Received many farm show awards for their prize winning white potatoes and sweet potatoes.

Mr. Grunow is Survived by his wife Bertha nee Gaupp, One Son Ernest Robert Jr. and his wife Margaret of Colorado, One Daughter Kathie Hathaway and her Husband Patrick, One Brother Willard Grunow and his wife Loris of Pomona, One Sister Viola Grunow also of Pomona. Three Grandchildren Ernest The 4th and his companion Melissa, Melissa and Anne Three Great grandchildren Rebecca, CJ and Cynthia. And many loving Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation will take place on Sunday January 11, 2009 from 5PM to 8PM at the Atwood Peterson O'Brien Funeral Home Egg Harbor City. Funeral will take place on Monday January 12, 2009 with a Visitation from 10AM to 11AM at the Egg Harbor City Moravian Church.

Funeral service will be at 11AM. Internment will take place at the Germania Cemetery.

In Lieu of Flowers the family would like donations in Mr. Grunows Name sent to the Egg Harbor City Moravian Church.
