28 APRIL 2007 - The Germania Volunteer Fire Company, Station 26-2, and the Galloway Township
Fire Department regret to announce the passing of Life Member, Financial Secretary, and Firefighter Mr Ernest R. Miller.
Miller, Ernest R. (Ernie), 79 - of Cologne, Galloway Twp. died suddenly on Friday, April 27, 2007 at his home.
He was a life long area resident. He was born and raised in Mullica Twp. Ernie moved to Cologne
as a young married man and lived there the remainder of his life.
Ernest proudly served his country in the U.S.
Merchant Marines and the U.S. Army. He was a member of Carpenters Local #623 and worked as Superintendent for
L. Feriozzi Concrete Company for over 40 years. Some of the projects Ernie worked on were the building
of Bally, Golden Nugget, and Resorts casinos.
Mr. Miller was a Life Member of the Germania Volunteer Fire Company,
having served 50 years as an Active Member. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter and was a member of the
Cologne and One Shot Gun Clubs. Ernie spent many happy days hunting with his family and friends in New Jersey and
Vermont areas.
Mr. Miller is survived by his son, Dean Miller, daughter-in-law Lynette, grandsons, Devin and Brad,
all of Cologne, his sister Helen Miller of Mullica Twp. He is predeceased by his wife Betty, his son Daryl,
and brother Edwin.
His viewings will be 6 to 8 pm, Wednesday, May 2, 2007 and 10 to 11 AM, Thursday, May 3, 2007 at Wimberg Funeral
Home, 400 Liverpool Ave., Egg Harbor City (609-965-0357). Funeral services will be 11 AM, Thursday, Interment
will follow at Germania Cemetary.
