4 APRIL 2008 - At 01:51 hours, during moderate rain, Station 26-3 was dispatched to 47 southbound on
the Garden State Parkway (GSP) for an extrication assignment. C26-300, R26-38, U26-37, E26-35 and L26-36
responded. Upon arrival, C26-300 assumed command and due to the nature of the accident, slowed all
incoming units. R26-38 and E26-35 units searched nearby with flashlights and thermal cameras to ensure everyone
was accounted for. R26-38 and E26-35 provided post accident lighting during the investigation. R26-38 and E26-35 personnel
assisted the Medical Examiner's office. E26-35 assisted with cleaning the debris from both lanes of the GSP.
Station 26-2 (Germania) covered Station 26-3 until L26-36 and U26-37 returned to service.
Units were on scene for nearly 4 hours and were back in service by 06:00 hours.
